Event Navigation

This popular Hunter portrait exhibition is back for 2018. The artists of the Portrait Painters Hunter group will be holding their annual portrait exhibition ‘The Hunter – Let’s Face It’ at Adamstown Uniting Church Memorial Hall. All of the subjects are Hunter people who have contributed/volunteered throughout the region and are well known outside the region, or in their own local communities.
The subjects for this year include Andy Firth – winner of an Australian Jazz Award, Geoff Peterkin OAM 2017, Lindsay Carr – radio station 2NUR’s arts presenter/thespian, Henry Scuton – President of Hunter Surf Lifesaving Clubs, Neil Slater – restaurateur/owner of Scratchleys & Battlesticks restaurants, and Peter Lewis – The Herald newspaper cartoonist, to name a few.
The exhibition will be held over the weekend of 24th & 25th March with the opening night on Friday 23rd March – 6pm start. Joining the artists again will be the men’s harmony group The Novatones whose polished performance relishes the artistic vibes of the night.
Feature portrait painting – ‘Theo’ by Lee-Anne Corrigan (2017 People’s Choice).
