Incursions of Hope – Mojgan Habibi
Tuesday 30 March – Thursday 29 April
During April Adamstown will play host to two art installations by Newcastle ceramic artist Mojgan Habibi. These works will be installed within the historic church and offer an opportunity to contemplate the nature of hope in these challenging times. One of the works reflects on the ancient Persian poem The flight of the Birds and is made up of over 2000 small ceramic forms swirling up into the sky. The second work is based on observations of the native macadamia nut known for their incredible strength and resilience. These works invite reflection on our participation on political and spiritual processes that build communities of equality and justice.
These works can be viewed during the week 9am to 2pm or by appointment. Exhibition will begin with an opening event and artist discussion on Tuesday 30th March 6.30 for 7pm with refreshments provided. Exhibition continues until Thursday 29th April.
