Christmas with Charles Dickens – Readings from ‘A Christmas Carol’ with musical interludes

Christmas with Charles Dickens at Adamstown Uniting Church at 2pm, Saturday, 24th November, will be a great start to the festive season.
Readings from Dickens’ much-loved story, ‘A Christmas Carol’, will tell how the miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, is transformed by the visits of three Spirits, reminding him of the true joy of Christmas. The readings, presented by Newcastle actors, will be complemented by musical interludes, performed by soloists and a choir, with the audience joining in Christmas carols.
Director and editor – Pamela Whalan, acclaimed director of many productions in Sydney and Newcastle, known for her theatrical adaptations of Jane Austen’s novels; the music is coordinated by well-known teachers and performers, Jenny Barnes and Philip Sketchley, with Peter Coombes on violin, and local musicians. The readers are local actors.
Tickets available at the door: $20 adult, $15 concession, $10 child, and family (2A, 2C) $50, with proceeds going to Lifeline.
